Saga Prefecture has implemented CLOMO, an operation, management and utilization platform for smart devices, as their “iPad” infrastructure to support their IT infrastructure that innovates the “Saga Prefecture’s Medical Institution Information and Emergency Medical Information System” and “Mobile Work Style Promotion and Demonstration Project”.

【Utilization status of iPad in Saga Prefecture】

The Saga Prefecture has established the ICT Utilization Promotion Project (*1) and engages actively in utilization of ICT. As a part of the project they have introduced iPads and CLOMO and perform the following activities.

◯ Utilization of iPad for the “Saga Prefecture’s Medical Institution Information and Emergency Medical Information System”

【Schedule】 Since April, 2011
【Number of iPads】 120 (as of March 2014)
【Objectives】 Aims to enhance information sharing between emergency staff and medical institutes to achieve “efficient selection of transport destination of patients” and “decentralized and optimized patient transportation” in the emergency medical field in Saga Prefecture.
【Method】 Introduced iPad to all ambulances in Saga Prefecture and established a system for real-time entry and sharing of the readiness and actual acceptance of patients at medical institutes to visualize the emergency medical front.
【Outcomes】 Achieved the following outcomes in this activity
・Shorter emergency transportation time
・Decentralized patient emergency transportation
・Significantly increased utilization of Saga Prefecture’s Medical Institution Information and Emergency Medical Information System
・Reduced operational costs by 40 million yen per year due to cloud implementation
・Won the grand prize at the MCPC Awards 2012 and the Minister of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications Award (*2)
・Won the Advanced Policy Award at the 7th Advanced Policy Development Conference organized by the National Governors' Association (*3)

◯ iPad utilization at the Mobile Work Style Promotion and Demonstration Project

【Schedule】 Since August, 2013
【Number of iPads】 100 (as of August 2013)
【Objectives】 Change the work style with ICT to improve government services and business efficiency.
【Method】 Distributed iPads to 35 departments in Saga Prefecture as part of a demonstration project to improve operations within each department by allowing personnel to use the staff portal, documentation approval system, and other systems during business trips or from home as if they were at the office desk.
【Outcomes】 Achieved the following outcomes in this activity.
・It is actually reported that iPad was efficient in improving business operations by personnel from departments where iPad was distributed.
・Based on this report, the decision was made to increase the number of implemented smart devices to 1,000 and launch the Tele-work Promotion Project, including working-at-home from April 2014.

The Saga Prefecture has established the ICT Utilization Promotion Project (*1) and engages actively in utilization of ICT. As a part of the project they have introduced iPads and CLOMO and perform the following activities.
