From November 18, i³ Systems, Inc. (headquartered in Onojo City, Fukuoka; CEO: Tsutomu Sasaki) will begin offering and accepting service requests for CLOMO, an integrated management platform that consolidates the management of cloud serivces and smart devices (like the iPhone and iPad) to operate smoothly within the confines of your organization's security rules. CLOMO is a solution that thoroughly supports enterprises that utilize iPhones/iPads while also demanding sophisticated information management. We have received a limited specification disclosure from Apple, Inc. and are in the process of developing a Mobile Device Management (MDM) service that will securely manage multiple terminals. This service will be on-board the latest version of iOS4 and is the first such service to be launched commercially in Japan. The MDM functions offered with CLOMO have undergone a successful test run on iOS4.2GM and will be operable as an MDM service on the iPhone as well as the iPad in mid-November, coinciding with the scheduled start of iOS4.2 distribution.

With CLOMO, the Cloud services and devices used by each person belonging to your organization can be managed collectively, and particularly with smart device management, the following operations can be automatically and remotely implemented in real time:

• Access control that enables more secure use from smart devices/PCs
• Inventory of smart device information (basic information, applications used, etc.)
• Remote lock of smart devices
• Remote wipe of smart devices
• Restricted installation of applications from various app stores into smart devices
• Configuration control (mail, WiFi, etc.) of smart devices

Details of Service

When it comes to the use of cloud services and smart devices by enterprises (a given on the business scene), CLOMO provides the integrated management functions necessary to operate more smoothly. CLOMO connects the actual resources of a company (its people and departments) and communication services like Google Apps, SFA/CRM, cloud services like online storage, and the people and devices that use these services, enabling integrated management in line with each company's security rules and policies. 

i³ Systems plans to develop CLOMO as an integrated platform that enables seamless access from smart devices to all of the cloud services used in the company. We plan to implement many more functions in the future, but to begin with, we're offering the three following central applications:

• CLOMO PANEL: An integrated control panel for administrators
• CLOMO GATE: Allows administrators to control access from PCs and smart devices
• CLOMO MDM (Mobile Device Management): Perform remote operations on smart devices

With these three applications at its core, CLOMO is being developed as an integrated management platform that will maximize the power of the cloud and smart devices.

Summary of CLOMO Functions

（１） CLOMO PANEL (Administrative Control Panel)

An administrative function for cloud services used within the company as well as mobile devices and user information. This function also manages the configuration of the CLOMO service.

• Configuration/Integrated management of the CLOMO service
• Integrated management of users, cloud services, and smart devices
• Configuration and revision of security rules for individual users and departments
• Configuration and administration of cloud services

（２） CLOMO GATE (Access Control)

Strengthen security through access control when computer browsers or smart devices attempt to access cloud services.

• Device authentication (PC, mobile phone, smart device)
• Control in line with the security rules configured with CLOMO PANEL

（３） CLOMO MDM (Mobile Device Management)

The first mobile device management (MDM) service in Japan. Administrators can manage smart devices remotely, including performing remote lock and wipe. This application can be used with not only the iPhone but also the iPad!

• Unified management of iOS mobile devices used within the organization
• Registration, revision, and deletion of security settings
• Remote locking of devices
• Individual user/devices profile configurations

Future Development

i³ Systems is currently preparing to offer an MDM service for Android OS. In the cloud service sector, we are also pursuing the integration and development of extended functions like a shared address book and group calendar that are highly demanded in the cloud usage of organizations. Scheduled to be released in the near future, these extended functions enable well-balanced operation that only grants access to specific users.
